The Engine Sales Intern will support engine sales, application engineering, order management and upfit/manufacturing by providing assistance with daily responsibilities and tasks including quotations, data management, report generation and customer/vendor/factory management.


  • Promote the concept of leadership through customer support excellence.

  • Prepare and deliver quotation packages to customers.

  • Maintain sales tracking system and follow-up with customers to make sales.

  • Maintain regular contact with customers and delivery partners in the region

  • Assists salesforce with quotation/RFP management and other sales cycle operations as needed. Contacts prospective and current customers via phone or other technologies and builds positive relationships that will generate future sales and repeat business.

  • Enters new customer data and update changes to existing accounts in the corporate database. Maintains accurate sales entry, reporting and forecasting through utilization of Cummins tools and processes (i.e. common sales cycle, Customer Relationship Management Systems

  • Develops problem solving guidelines, checklists, or other materials to assist inside sales staff to respond to inquiries that are recurring or routine.

  • Establish / manage project timeline.

  • Release work order to shop.

  • Coordinate delivery logistics.

  • Review work orders prior to closing.



  • High School Diploma or equivalent required with BSID degree at junior level or above.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Able to analyze Information.

  • Possess researching skills.

  • Report research results.

  • Presenting Technical Information.

  • Data Maintenance.

  • General Math skills.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Must be dependable, innovative, and hands on.

  • Must comply with safety rules and regulations and apply them to daily work routines for personal safety and the safety of others.

  • Must be able to work in different types of environments associated with customers’ location in all types of weather and work conditions. Steel toed shoes required.
