Your impact will happen in these and otherways:
Test and analyze engines and components for stress, strain, fatigue, noise and vibration.
Support all Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)-specific engineering activities and ensure that the program meets quality, cost and delivery targets.
Develop the electronic hardware, software and support tools for Cummins products.
Make engineering more effective by providing global information technologies and services.
Ensure that our testing lab operates and meets targets in a safe and efficient manner, and that equipment is available and capable.
Identify, develop and support common materials engineering which enable and leverage Analysis Led Design.
Use Creo/Pro-Engineer as a tool in the layout, modeling and analysis of generators, engines, engine sub-systems, engine components and assemblies.
Product Environmental Engineering
Work with regulatory agencies to influence future regulations, certify current emissions and communicate internally.
Focus on enabling new and current product teams to meet customer reliability requirements.
Anticipate tests necessary to validate new product lines for future years.
Act as the technical liaison between the global Cummins Service channel and the Engineering,
Quality, and Manufacturing organizations to identify, define, and prioritize product issues and to implement long term solutions.
Thermal and Fluid Science
Analyze our products in test cells or test rigs in the field, as well as model performance aspects of the engine, fuel system, filtration, or aftertreatment systems.
Serve as a key team member within the Cummins Customer Support organization providing warranty, technical support and problem resolution to our global dealers and distributor network
Integrated Supply Chain
Support company-wide efforts to reduce resource consumption, prevent pollution and ensure regulatory compliance; all core elements of Cummins’ broader sustainability initiatives consistent with company policy.
Health & Safety
Focus on creating a safe and healthy workplace and raising awareness of situations or behaviors that might lead to injury or illness.
A vital link in our supply chain is manufacturing and the improvement of our operational excellence. Apply common approaches in all Cummins manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution entities. Additionally, you will help to improve our worldwide manufacturing performance with an emphasis on throughput, schedule stability, and waste reduction.
Planning and Logistics
Apply your planning and logistics skills in materials, production, customer service, demand management, logistics, warehousing, transportation and trade compliance.
Purchasing / Supplier Management
More than half of every dollar we collect is spent within our supply base, so you can make a big impact in Purchasing. Finding the best suppliers. Negotiating for sustainability. Working with partners across our Supply Chain. Developing optimal strategies. There is more to Purchasing than you’d expect!
Have the opportunity to continuously improve Cummins processes using quality tools and skills. You’ll work with other functions to find, qualify, and improve suppliers. You’ll work with manufacturing to implement and improve manufacturing processes.

Cummins Co-op program criteria:
Must be a full-time enrolled student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree
Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred
Must be able to complete a minimum of 12 weeks or a maximum of 52 week commitment
Must be able to complete 40 hours per week
Willingness to learn from others on the job
