Placement - Aftermarket Assistant Financial Analyst


The individual will be given an opportunity to apply theory to real business issues and make a positive contribution to the success of the Demand Planning Department, the New & ReCon operations and its customers.

  • Carrying out analysis of sales trends, drawing preliminary conclusions and making recommendations where appropriate;

  • Helping to produce financial reports including weekly sales and margin reports and generate the commentary on our performance variances;

  • Develop and maintain an accurate sales forecasting, analysing our performance and develop ways to improve our performance;

  • Working both independently and as part of the team to support the department on key tasks and projects; Assisting the department to achieve its business goals;

  • Representing and promoting Cummins to both internal and external Customers;

  • Achieving results to agreed deadlines.


Studying for an undergraduate degree in a Business or Finance related discipline.

  • Must have a good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint; Any advance Excel knowledge would be highly regarded;

  • Attention to detail and good organisational skills are very important;

  • Team working skills and also being able to work on your own initiative;

  • Well developed communication skills; both written and verbal;

  • Ambition, flexibility and confidence coupled with creativity, imagination and a desire to learn and take on responsibility.

Cummins standard training for new employees includes code of business conduct, diversity, health and safety. There will also be other ongoing training including, but not limited to:

  • How to apply data collection and analytical skills to specific tasks to solve real business issues

  • Communication skills, presentation content, compilation and delivery

  • Enhancing relationships with suppliers and customers

  • Cross functional team working

  • Enhancing personal development skills

  • Six Sigma methodology and involvement in Six Sigma projects
