This is an exciting opportunity in Krakow, Poland for an Accountant.

Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:

  • Responsible for reconciliation and adjustment of various general ledger accounts.

  • Co-responsible for B/S reconciliation of all accounts for Poland making sure accounts are reconciled according to policy.

  • When required be responsible for B/S reconciliation for other DBU BCs within Europe.

  • Prepares related financial reports and statements.

  • Compiles, consolidates, and conducts basic analysis of accounting and finance information.

  • Assists with the production of monthly and annual financial statements and reports.

  • Makes accounting adjustments through appropriate journal entries.

  • Assists with monthly and annual account reconciliations and close activities.

  • Examines a variety of financial statements and transactions for completeness, internal accuracy, and conformance with accounting standards.

  • Prepares tables, charts, and other exhibits for reports.

  • Assist Financial Controller in preparation of routine as well as hoc management reports.

  • Co-operate with Financial Controller for Poland in preparation works for accounting system implementation.

  • May perform less complex accounting projects or participate as a team member on more complex projects.

  • Assist with any other areas of finance as required.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience Required

  • Prior experience in accounting would be an additional advantage.

  • Languages: Polish native speaker, English – good knowledge that enables efficient communication - Required.

  • Knowledge of Polish GAAP – Preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of US GAAP – Preferred.

  • Excel and other Microsoft office literacy - Required.

  • Knowledge of accounting systems (Movex and or Oracle) - Preferred.

  • Attention to details and tenacity to get things done.

  • Pro-activeness and problem solving approach.

  • Willingness to learn and develop in order to become a qualified accountant - ACCA or equivalent.

Required Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
