Placement - Program and Project Analyst


At Cummins we recognise that having experience of the working world during your university degree provides a key insight to the practical application of your learning. We run an exciting 12-month placement where you are given an opportunity to work in a role and on real projects making a difference in both your team and the company as a whole. You will receive on the job training and take part in a structured Training & Development Programme designed to give the skills and competencies required for future graduate roles.

In addition to the roles & responsibilities below; the candidate will support the NPS Program Leader in the following areas:

  • (Project) Refresh of NPS Program materials, documentation, websites

  • Management of existing Service Transactional NPS Programs and others as required by the business

  • Work autonomously following direction, and be proactive in your approach.

  • Analyse data, produce reports and make recommendations based on your findings.

  • Serve as a resource on projects and work assignments, employing a basic knowledge of effective project management and general business understanding.

  • Assist with project planning and tracking, research and analytical support, providing input into the design and development of project plans and associated timelines.

  • Monitor and communicate project status to project teams and the wider business.

  • Identify, track and then work with others to resolve project issues.

  • Assist with the management of project risk, using standard tools to identify areas of risk.

  • Document and share team learning with other teams, draw on other experiences to enhance the success of the projects.

  • Maintain project notes, databases and other records, monitor and publish key performance measures.

  • Communicate to the Program Leader the status of specific projects and assignments.

  • Embrace the Company values and mission, representing and promoting of Cummins Inc.

  • Support department process and problem-solving projects from start to finish.


To be eligible for our 12 Month work placement you must be a university student who has a placement year option as part of their degree programme. You will spend a year in a specific department to gain real experience in your subject area.

  • Be an energetic and considerate team member

  • Understand the relationships and balance between the project management fundamentals of Scope, Schedule and Resources to successfully plan and deliver projects

  • Able to define and solve problems in a disciplined approach.

  • Have fine attention to detail skills

  • Computer literate. Excellent skills of Excel, Word & Power Point.

  • Must be able to actively participate and contribute as a team member, including strong cross functional communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
