Placement - Supply Chain Analyst

Role overview:

Manage customer orders and ensure that customers receive the best service possible through the order lifecycle, to coordinate with global functions to resolve issues on various projects. Perform data analysis to support department and business objectives. Provide technical support for new customer set ups, as well as making necessary requested changes to existing customer accounts. If requested there will be the opportunity to experience work in other departments such as marketing, engineering, finance, sales etc.


Global Customer Account Management

  • Act as single point of contact for the customer - providing consultative support including lead time, availability, minor technical support, and policy information.

  • Provide guidance to stakeholders by communicating with the Sales, Finance, Engineering, Logistics and other business functions to effectively respond to queries and resolve any issues.

  • Liaise with internal production, planning & materials teams to ensure prompt, accurate and timely order throughput

  • Host customers at local plant for customer visits, witness tests and/or factory tours.

Supply and Demand Data Analysis

  • Provide support to the department and to global business functions through data analysis which will help to influence business decisions

  • Create, design and distribute surveys on various topics throughout the year to gather data on customer opinions, expectations and feedback depending on the business targets.

  • Through various data sets create collaborative reports to support and track business performance throughout the year.

Customer Master Support

  • Provide customer set up support for new customer accounts as well as technical support for existing accounts

  • Support COM departmental goals and initiatives to become a more proactive customer support organization: develop, document and enhance standard practices, communication, and order throughput processes.

  • Maintain and manage the global customer email distribution list, this ensures customers always receive crucial info in a timely manner.

  • Identify ideas and develop proactive communications to assigned customers (processes, policy and/or best practices), participate in continuous improvement


Required Skills and experience:

  • Empowered to liaise with external customer base and take a lead role in managing accounts, ability to communicate to customers at the highest level.

  • Must be able lead project meetings when required; project management.

  • Must have strong ability to multitask and prioritize based on customer demands and workload.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, relationship building, conflict management.

  • Customer led quality, initiate improvement plans both internally and with the customer base.

  • Excellent IT skills to include Excel and PowerPoint (Microsoft skills mandatory)

  • Dynamic, strong organisational and time management skills.

  • Effective written and oral communication skills.

  • Flexible and proactive attitude with a desire to learn and take on responsibility.

  • Some experience of working within Oracle R12 and using MRP systems will be advantageous but not mandatory


  • Studying a business related degree (Business & Management, International Business etc.)

  • Expected to be on track for at least a 2:1 classification on graduation.
