About the role

Our Scoresby branch is currently looking for a 12 month full time or part time Legal Intern commencing late January 2019 who is keen to utilise theoretical skills learnt in their degree and develop practical skills in the workforce. This is a unique opportunity to gains skills and knowledge while you are working full time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with key internal and external stakeholders.

  • Support all legal practice areas including litigation, real estate, employment and commercial.

  • With the support of the Legal team, review and draft various agreements and manage small claims.

  • Assist with core legal project work.

  • Provide legal research to the Legal team as may be required from time to time.

  • Research, prepare and distribute monthly legal alerts.

  • Attend training and development courses.

  • Participate in community involvement teams.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Currently in your penultimate year (with a minimum of 1 full semester of study remaining) studying an undergraduate Bachelor’s Degree in Law

  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Time management skills and ability to multi-task

  • An interest and willingness to learn and develop new skills in a diverse organisation

  • Great interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Ability to understand and maintain confidentiality

  • Good computer literacy and understanding of Microsoft Office suite

  • Valid car driving license highly preferred

    This is a 12 month, full time, paid placement. We are able to offer flexible work arrangements and the successful candidate can either study part time or defer their studies for the duration of the program .
